Snowshoe Mountain, West Virginia

The Largest Winter Resort Area in the Region

For mid-Atlantic and Southeast skiers, snowboarders and winter enthusiasts, Snowshoe Mountain is the premier destination this winter. Located in wild and beautiful Pocahontas County, WV, our resort is just a short 5-hour drive from major metropolitan areas like Charlotte, DC, Raleigh, Richmond and Columbus.

As the largest resort in the area, a single lift ticket will gain you access to three mountain faces of terrain: The Snowshoe Basin, Silver Creek, and the Western Territory.

The Snowshoe Basin offers a little something for everyone. Experts can enjoy bomber runs like Widowmaker, Choker, and Knot Bumper. Intermediates will enjoy great cruiser runs like Skipjack, Spruce Glades, and Gandy Dancer. And for first timers, the Basin area offers great learning terrain like the Flume Trail system. Whatever your preference, you'll find the perfect trail for you in the Snowshoe Basin area.

The Ruckus Ridge Adventure Park at the Silver Creek area offers something for every member of your family from the tamest to most fearless. With night skiing, a five-lane tubing hill, Kids World, and the Mountaineer Terrain Park featuring a 300' half pipe and plenty of rails and kickers, the Ruckus Ridge Adventure Park is designed with one thing in mind... FUN!!!

And for those of you up for the challenge, the Western Territory, with 1500' of vert to conquer, is where adrenaline junkies head to get their fix. With legendary Cupp Run, designed by Olympian Jean Claude Kily, and Shay's Revenge, with 52° steeps and "mountain size" moguls, even the most hardcore skiers and snowboarders must take notice of these two beasts.

Snowshoe's terrain extends far beyond the slopes. With 11,000-acres nestled nearly a mile high in the Allegheny Mountains, the adventures are endless and the experiences are unforgettable. Our backcountry trails and spectacular scenery are unmatched anywhere in the East. If you're adventurous, strap on some snowshoes or cross-country skis for access into a snowy solitude. Or, hop on a snowmobile or Snowcat tour for a unique perspective of our mountain.

Our Village area also offers a full array of dining and shopping options on top of the mountain. Here you'll also find some of the best après ski around. Our nightlife options offer something for the tamest to most wild.

So plan your Snowshoe escape today! It will have you saying WOW! for years to come.
